Cooking with cannabis is part of the food world here in Oregon–where both medical and recreational cannabis is 100 percent legal and regulated. And because we’ve had so many requests for a cannabis cooking and education class, we wanted to provide an opportunity for our guests to be informed by experts. Brownies or cookies? CBD or THC? How much shall I use and how will I be affected? We all have so many questions when it comes to baking with cannabis products. Join Serra, an experiential cannabis lifestyle brand, and James Beard award-winning author and avid fan of the cannabis industry Martha Holmberg (Six Seasons, A Way with Vegetables, The Bar Book) in a live action discussion, chocolate making and baking session around cannabis-infused sweet treats. Martha will be joined by Charley Wheelock (Woodblock Chocolate, Portland) and Chocolatier Holly Hukill (Serra, Portland) as they walk through the precise science of baking with weed and how the ingredients work together to elevate, integrate, and celebrate the cannabis culture and how this is changing the food industry along the way. Charley will walk the class through his unique chocolate making process, and Holly will demo how the ultimate brownie can be created using the bean-to-bar Serra x Woodblock infused chocolate, reliable weed infusion and experienced execution. Even though you won’t be able to sample the final product (we follow all the rules during the festival, folks!), you will be able to end on a high note with some tips, tricks, and recipes to empower you to bake those weed brownies you’ve been dreaming about.
